Dear Leverett's Chapel ISD Community, It is with great pride and excitement that we announce Coach Keith Hughes as the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for our school. Coach Hughes brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role, making him an invaluable addition to our team. Coach Hughes' journey towards teaching and coaching began sixteen years ago when he decided to pursue his passion for mentoring young minds. Before transitioning to the education field, he spent sixteen years as an environmental scientist and industrial hygiene consultant, specializing in occupational and environmental safety. His expertise ranged from conducting environmental site assessments to managing industrial hygiene projects across different states, catering to various clients from real estate, petroleum, manufacturing, and governmental sectors. In addition to his practical experience, Coach Hughes holds a Bachelor of Science in Technology and Management from the University of Maryland, with a special emphasis on environmental and hazardous waste management. He also possesses certifications in physical education, math, bioenvironmental engineering, and a myriad of school-related training programs, highlighting his commitment to continuous growth and learning. Throughout his career, Coach Hughes has exemplified excellence in both teaching and coaching. His previous roles at Savoy ISD, Louise ISD, and Whiteface CISD saw him successfully leading football, powerlifting, and track teams, while also imparting knowledge in various math classes. His accomplishments, such as the remarkable turnaround of a football team and guiding students to regional powerlifting status, showcase his leadership and coaching prowess. His passion for mentoring, coupled with his extensive experience, makes him the perfect fit for the role of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Leverett's Chapel ISD. Please join us in welcoming Coach Keith Hughes to our school community.

Today, we want to show our gratitude to our school lunch heroes: Amanda Smith, Maureen Salazar, and Debbie Fidler! Every day, they work tirelessly to ensure we are all well-fed, but they go beyond that. They are also warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and words of encouragement for those who may need it. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!

STAAR Testing for the following dates! April 16-18, 23-25, May 1, 2 are the magical dates! If seniors are top-notch academically and attendance-wise, they get the golden ticket to leave. Just swing by the high school office before 8 AM, sign in, and then it's freedom time! Except for April 17th when they need to hang around for CPR training with Nurse Amy, but after that, they're off the hook!
